Previously known as TJM Electrical & Solar, we grew up and live in Moreton Bay Region and realise exceptional service, good quality parts and superior workmanship is how we can best service our customers and ensure we are in business long-term
Moreton Bay Region Electrical Services
Based in Wamuran, Moreton Bay Region, Mern Industries was established in 2009 as TJM Electrical & Solar. Rebranding in 2021 to Mern Industries, this change more appropriately reflected the business’s growth and expansion to the variety of services we provide, along with it being part of our family name.
The business is still owned and directed by Tony with his wife Amanda who have a long history in the local community. They felt there was a need in the local community to access quality electrical, air conditioning and solar solutions for current residents and farmers as well as new families moving to the area.
They wanted to make people’s day-to-day living and working lives more comfortable and easier while giving a personalised, quality, value for money service.
What we do best
Tony has extensive experience in all aspects of electrical installations, air conditioning, telecommunications and fault finding. He is also a fully accredited solar designer and installer for grid connect solar, and solar system with battery back-up and has been installing solar since 2009.
Tony’s experience and skill in sheet metal fabrication also complements our services with custom-designed and manufactured steel covers, boxes and cages for safety and weather protection of inverters, air conditioners and the like. All of which are made locally, here in Wamuran.
As a team, Mern Industries want to exceed customer expectations. We also value our networks and partnerships with other local businesses to support jobs and skills in the Moreton Bay region.

Tony Mernin
Director / Tradesman
Tony is a qualified electrician, holding a contractor’s licence. He is fully accredited as a solar designer and installer for grid connect solar and solar system with battery back up and has been installing solar since 2009. Tony holds an Arctick and Austel licence and has experience in the telecomms, civil construction and steel fabrication industries. Tony has the experience and expertise to supply our farming, commercial and residential customers with clear, accurate advice and quality solutions to suit their electrical, air conditioning and solar needs.
Scott Mernin
Electrical Tradesman
Scott is a qualified, licensed electrician who is extremely hard working with a great ability to think ‘outside the box’.
He is a people person and connects very well with our customers.
Scott shares the same values and work ethic that Mern Industries is based on. Scott completed his electrical apprenticeship after 4 years of learning and working on the job with Tony. His workmanship and attention to detail creates an exceptional product and service upon completion.
Matthew Mernin
Air conditioning and Refrigeration Tradesman
Matt is a qualified refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic. He has his QBCC Occupational-Mechanical Services-Air conditioning and Refrigeration licence and Arctick refrigerant handling licence. Matt has experience in both residential and commercial air conditioning and ventilation and can assist our customers with all their air conditioning needs including split system or ducted air.
Matt’s knowledge, attention to detail and quality of installation makes him an important addition to our trades team, ensuring we give the best possible service and end product to our customers.
Amanda Mernin
Office Manager
Amanda is essential to the business’ overall operations supporting the tradesman and apprentice on-site.
Her extensive experience in administrative support means she manages Mern Industries’ administration and is responsible for scheduling the required work at your home or business.
It is Amanda who will answer your enquiries over the phone.
Jade Golding
Administration Assistant
Jade is our administration assistant, working along side Amanda in the office. Jade is currently completing her Certificate III in Business Administration. Jade answers your calls, assists with scheduling, quoting, ordering and helps to support the tradesman and apprentice.
Jade is very efficient, friendly and a fast learner. She shares our core values and complements our team extremely well.
